President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika is expected to return home this coming Saturday from the People’s Republic of China where he attended 3rd Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) held in Beijing.

Mutharika left the country on August 27, 2018 through Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) in the capital Lilongwe and he left the leadership in the hands of Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Kondwani Nankhumwa.

According to a statement released by Chief Secretary to the President Lloyd Muhara, the plane carrying President Mutharika will land at KIA at 11am.
While in China, Mutharika met the management of the China Jiangxi Corporation for International Economic CJIC in Beijing.

Mutharika also visited the headquarters of China Energy Engineering Group Co.Ltd ( C E E C).

The President was also honoured by the University of International Business and Economic’s (UIBE) in China with a Professorship for undertaking historic economic reforms that have taken Malawi’s economy from a crisis to recovery and growth without budgetary donor support.
