Thousands of Malawians on Thursday gathered at Kaphala Village, Traditional Authority (T/A) Chikowi in Zomba to pay their last respect to the departed well-known gospel singer and architect Lloyd Mainuka.

Mainuka of Chinjoka fame died on Tuesday night at Kamuzu Central Hospital (KCH) in the capital Lilongwe due to high blood pressure.

According to information at hand, Mainuka collapsed while in his office on Tuesday afternoon.

The news about the death of Mainuka on Wednesday took the social media by storm with many expressing their shock.

Speaking in an interview with the press Musician Union of Malawi (MUM) President Reverend Chimwemwe Mhango expressed sadness on the matter.

Mhango said Mainuka was a reliable member of MUM who contributed positively to the growth of the union.

Mainuka was born on December 29, 1978.

He is survived by a wife and 4 Children.
