Longtime Malawi Congress Party lawmaker for Lilongwe Mapuyu South, Joseph Njovuyalema, has lost in primary elections to Chileka Banda.
The primaries took place at on Thursday at Kang’oma Primary School in the constituency, according to information sourced by faceofmalawi reporter.
According to information at hand, Banda got 470 votes against Njobvuyalema who got 320 votes while Stella Kathumba came third with 50 votes.
The development means Chileka Banda will represent Malawi Congress Party (MCP) in Lilongwe Mapuyu South in the forthcoming 2019 polls.
Effort to talk to Njobvuyalema proved futile.
