Lilongwe City Mayor Desmond Bikoko will contest as Member of Parliament in Zomba Malawi Constituency, faceofmalawi can reveal.
According to information at hand, Bikoko who dumped the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) earlier this year after winning the Mayorship, will contest on the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) ticket.
Bikoko is expected to face son to former president Joyce Banda, Roy Kachali Banda who is the incumbent MP for constituency.
The Lilongwe City Mayor recently made headlines following reports of corruption especially on locations of plots in the capital Lilongwe.
Bikoko is accused of allocating plots to DPP top officials including the country’s first lady Madam Gertrude Mutharika.
