Former President Joyce Banda who is also Presidential candidate for the opposition Peoples Party (PP) on Sunday registered in her home village in Zomba ahead of the 2019 tripartite election.
The Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) is conducting the voter registration exercise and the exercise is currently on phase 6.
Banda was accompanied his husband, retired Chief Justice Richard Banda Sc and some party top officials, according to an eyewitness.
The former President follows the footsteps of President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika and the State Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima who already registered.
