One of Malawi’s project and research consultancy companies, Excellence Assured, is helping in the creation of jobs in Malawi through the offering of free courses in Programme Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, and data entry.
This has been happening for 7 consecutive months now as one way of giving back to Malawians as the Chanco-born organization is celebrating its fourth year of existence in Malawi.
Chipiliro Mizere, the institution’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), confirmed that certificates of attendance or course completion are helping people secure jobs at various reputable organisations because of the practical skills offered.
“Many are bearing witness about the skills they get after finishing the programmes we offer, and some organisations like United States Embassy, usually call us to give credit for our trainees and none has ever complained about them,” he clarified.
It only takes two days during weekends for one to grasp the practical skills, since they are taught what really happens on the ground.
Yamikani Banda is one of the beneficiaries and he is now working as a supervisor at AMPEX Courier in Mzuzu.
“Excellence Assured has done a lot to me. Right now I am a supervisor at AMPEX Courier. I enjoyed my interview at AMPEX for what I answered during interviews was all about applying skills we grasped at Excellence Assured. So it has helped me a lot,” he said.
The institution trains about 1000 students every month in Zomba, Mzuzu, Lilongwe and Blantyre, and so far, over 5 thousand students have taken part in the course.
Mizere also stressed that they are trying to expand further and reach many people in Malawi to continue helping in so many issues affecting the nation.
“We are trying to come up with ways to reach other areas not just the current three cities, and we are planning to have a powerful institution to help solve complex issues in our country,” he said.
The next phase of the free short courses is scheduled on 6th and 7th October, 2018.
