It has been reported that the real issue behind Chekucheku chieftaincy wrangle is because of the following people Stranger Moffat George, Nelson Namatenga, Sam Njolomole and Luwis Mwanyodola Nkhalepo.

According to one of the concerned people from Chekucheku family Dickson Chapingasa the said people are behind the closure of the DC’s office yet they are not connected in any way to the Chekucheku chieftaincy.

“The Chekucheku family is asking the Minister responsible for Local Government and Rural Development Kondwani Nankumwa to send independent people to investigate the matter,” he said.

They are using a Local Community Based Organization namely Dalitso Community Based Organization (DCBO) to pretend as if people in the area does not want their chief. Those who support them are Alfred Chipendo and Alick Milanzi from the District Council, he said.

He said the other issue is that money meant for development which is supposed to be given to the right people reaches into their hands and they share it with their friends instead of the real beneficiaries a thing which is deterring development projects in the area.

On the same development another concerned person from the Chekucheku family Alfred Donda said the loyal family of the Chekucheku is wondering why these people close the DC’s office as if the chief resides at the DC’s office and not closing the Chekucheku house.

He also said they are also wondering why government has remained silent on this matter because the DC has no power because is being guided by these people and some NGO’s so that they should do whatever they want in the area so as to make sure that the chief has no authority.

“The people who submitted names of these people to be installed as T/A Chekucheku are very from Chekucheku chieftaincy,” he said.

Donda added that on 23 to 25 January 2015 Inkosi Ya Makosi Gomani came to the area to find out the real truth of the matter and he discovered that all this is happening because of jealousy.

He further said the loyal family of Chekucheku is therefore asking the President and the Minister to do something so that justice should prevail.
There has been no immediate comment from the accused persons.
