Information reaching faceofmalawi indicates that a man has been arrested in Dedza for posing as nurse at Dedza District Hospital.
Dedza District Hospital Mwai Liabunya confirmed of the development in an interview with the press and identified the suspect as Trevor Chimoto.
According to Liabunya, Chimoto was caught in the maternity ward discharging his duties by some certified nurses at the hospital on Monday.
Liabunya has since appealed to the government through Ministry of Health and Population to consider issuing identity cards to all health workers to curb the malpractice.
Last year the police arrested three fake medical doctors at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital and the three are saving various sentences.
