Information sourced by faceofmalawi indicates that President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika is planning to appoint Atupele Muluzi a Second Vice President ahead of the forthcoming 2019 tripartite election.
According to published information, the discussions on the matter have going on for some time now and a team of experts within the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has been appointed to look on the matter.
DPP Spokesperson Nicholas Dausi who is also Minister of Information and Communications Technology expressed ignorance on the matter when contacted for comment by Zodaik Broadcasting Station (ZBS), a report monitored by FOM’s reporter.
Dausi asked for more time since he is outside the country.
Muluzi who is also Minister of Health and Population also expressed ignorance on the matter, saying nothing of that nature has ever happened.
Recently rumours were all over the social media that Mutharika has promised Muluzi a runningmate post ahead of the 2019 polls.
But UDF spokesperson Ken Ndanga trashed the claims, saying there is nothing going between the two camps.
