Police in Blantyre have arrested two men believed to be members of Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) regional committee for south.

According to investigations, the two were selling party’s cloth meant to be distributed free of charge.

This transpired upon receipt of a complaint from the party and police officers instituted investigations leading to the arrest of the two and a recovery of 35 rolls of the party cloth was made.

The culprits are likely to be charged with being ‘found in possession of property suspected to have been stolen’ when investigations are through.

The two currently in police custody in Blantyre are Chikondi Makoka, 38, makanyana village, T/A mkanda, Mulanje and Peter Mawerenga, 38, Tonya village, T/A Somba, Blantyre.
