The High court in Lilongwe has nullified the controversial convention held by the Alliance for Democracy (AFORD) earlier this year in the capital Lilongwe.
In May this year, two separate conventions were held in AFORD where Enock Chihana and Frank Tumpale Mwenefumbo were elected “presidents” of the party.
The development forced the Chihana’s camp to seek legal redress on the matter and the ruling was scheduled for today.
Delivering his ruling, the presiding Judge Charles Mkandawire nullified the election and asked the party to call for fresh convention.
“Political problems require political solutions,” said Mhango in his ruling.
