The University of Malawi (Unima) Council has accepted to increase salaries for all support staff by 10 percent following a sit-in.
In a statement released on Sunday, the council says it has amicably resolved the issue with the University Workers Trade Union (UWTU) to effect the hike.
The council will also pay arrears from 1st July, 2018 and UWTU has agreed to return to work on Monday, 22nd October, 2018.
