State Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima who is also leader of the yet to be registered United Transformation Movement (UTM) has returned from Nigeria where he attended the second Africa-Israel dialogue at the invitation of former President of Nigeria Olusegun Obasanjo.
Chilima arrived in the country through Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) in the capital Lilongwe.
He was welcomed by his wife Mary and some of the UTM top officials led by its Secretary General Patricia Kaliati who is also Member of Parliament for Mulanje.
On Tuesday, Chilima spoke at the meeting which its theme was “Agriculture and Technology for Development.”
In his address, Chilima asked African leaders to put much effort on Agriculture.
The trip to Nigeria is Chilima’s second foreign trip this month following another one to the United Kingdom where he went for holiday and private engagements.
Some Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) sponsored by the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) are calling for the immediate resignation of Chilima accusing him of receiving monthly dues while not discharging his duties.
But Chilima has trashed the calls, saying he has contract with government which runs up to May 21, 2019.
