Faith DJ ( Angella Faith Lapukeni) is a rapper, poet and she is in her final year of PhD in Economics under Japanese Government Scholarship. She started rapping in 2010 and has been writing poetry from a young age. She was a finalist in the global Loveworld Music and Arts Festival in South Africa, in 2015 and her songs “Reach Out” which she did with members of the campus ministry won “Reach Out Song of the Year” at the Southern Africa BLW DMC in January 2016.

She has collaborated with award winning Martin PK in her debut single “Malatamando”, and artists in Zambia, Malawi and Kenya.

1- She always believed she could never be able to write a song until she was almost forced in 2010 by her friends from The Essence (a hip hop show she did at Chancellor College). She thought she was a poet only.

2-  She is considered “picky” about the food she eat by those close to her.

3- The first time she laid hands on someone to pray for them was at a beauty pageant when one girl was feeling sick and they went to the bathroom, she prayed for her and she fell under the power, which really surprised her because it had never happened to get before. She was totally fine after.
She absolutely love having her picture taken.

4- One of her  favorite meals is Nsima, traditionally boiled Chambo and kambuzi chili’s.

5- Since being in Japan she have been an extra in commercials for Panasonic, Sony, Universal Studios, Google and even a Japanese movie.

6- Since being in Japan she also have had the opportunity to distribute Bibles through Rhapsody of Realities Bible distribution every year.

7- She knew she wanted to be an Economist from age 14 and after secondary school her parents tried to make her go to COM but she was so certain that she said no.

Currently Faith Dj is working on few projects and she decided to release a song titled “Stick To The Word “ which is in Hip Hop Gospel genre.

Stick To The Word is a song which she composed way back when she was inspired by messages from Pastor Chris Oyakhilome who always says “One thing is certain, If you stick to the Word, you will come back with a testimony”. She has truly seen that in her life: God’s Word is potent. It works. Hence she released of this song “Stick To The Word”. Download it here
