On Saturday, Main opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP) postponed primary elections for Salima North West where incumbent parliamentarian Jessie Kabwila is facing stiff competition from Enock Phale.
According to sources, the constituency has 108 areas but a few delegates showed up at the venue, forcing the party to postpone the elections.
This is the second time for the primaries to be postponed in the constituency. The first attempt ended in chaos due to misunderstanding over delegates eligibility.
