Mangochi District Council has rejected Malawi Congress Party (MCP) application for its president Lazarus Chakwera to hold whistle-stop tours and rally at Mbwadzulu FP School football ground on 1st December 2018.

A letter signed by District Commissioner dated 29th November 2019, says President Peter Mutharika will be travelling from Zomba to Monkey Bay on the same day and will also hold whistle-stop tours on his way to Chikoko Bay.
