Death has been announced of Tumbuka Paramount Chikulamayembe of Rumphi District in the northern part of Malawi.
Chief Chikulamayembe who was regarded as a no nonsense man passed on on Thursday at Mzuzu Central Hospital after a short illness.
Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development Spokesperson Muhlabase Mughogho confirmed of the development in a statement made available to faceofmalawi.
Chief Chikulamayembe was one of the respectable Chiefs in the country as he could not associate himself with any political party be it the ruling.
In 2017 he publicly condemned the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) under President Professor Arthur peter Mutharika for allegedly perpetrating violence at Gonapamuhanya cultural festival at Bolero in Rumphi.
