A 95-year-old Kenyan woman identified as Chebelina Mukomuga, is on headlines for enrolling in school to learn to read and write.
The 95-year-old Kenyan woman who registered for adult education with a number of other elderly Kenyan women, is said to be the oldest in her class.
According to Wanjiku Kinuthia, the Communication Officer at Lewa Wildlife, Kenya, Chebelina Mukomuga estimates that she was born in 1923.
This is coming after it was reported that Men in adult education classes, opted to learn separately from their female counterparts.
Kwale County Adult and Continuing Education Officer Argwings Owuor said.
“Many men feel ashamed when their wives beat them in the classroom, a factor that has made a majority of them to suspend attending the adult learning classes,” Owuor said.
