The Court in Hong Kong has adjourned a drug trafficking case involving a Malawian lady identified as Estina Mukasera.
Mukasera appeared in Court on December 3, 2018 and she had a Malawian translator, according to Robert Mkwezalamba, Chairman of Human Rights Defenders Coalition.
Mkwezalamba said HRCC commend Parliamentary Committee on International relations, Foreign Affairs Ministry, Father John Wotherspoon and all those that are playing various roles to secure a fair trial and possible repatriation of her back home.
“Our Concern as HRCC besides lobbying for her retain, is to use her case to showcase how Grave Trafficking in persons and Banned substances has penetrated our society- hence we would like a united action to ensure that we get lid of this vice.
“We are collaborating with Family, Police and other national organs to also get to the bottom of the matter and have the master minders face justice,” he said.
According to Mkwezalamaba, HRCC believes that Estina Mukasera is a Victim of Trafficking and deserves State protection and support.
Drug trafficking is punishable by death sentence in China.
