United Democratic front (UDF) President Atupele Muluzi has said that he is not in hurry in appointing his runningmate ahead of the forthcoming 2019 tripartite election.

Muluzi who is also Minister of Health and Population under President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika’s reign said this during a political rally held in Zomba Ntonya constituency on Sunday.

According to Muluzi, choosing a running mate is a process that needs time and thorough consultation.

He further said UDF will field a presidential candidate in the 2019 polls quashing claims by some quarters that he will be the runningmate of the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) President in the forthcoming polls.

Meanwhile analysts have attributed Muluzi’s delay to announce his runningmate as a political dilemma.
