Former President of United Transformation Party (UTP) Newton Kambala is set to challenge State Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima at United Transformation Movement (UTM) Party convention scheduled for December 17 2018.
UTM will hold its elective conference on December 17, 2018 at Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in the capital Lilongwe.
Various people especially UTM members have expressed interest to contest in various position with the latest being Newton Kambala.
Kambala is set to challenge UTM leader Saulos Chilima and this has been confirmed in a banner circulating on social media seen by Faceofmalawi reporter.
A win for Kambala which is unlikely end Chilima’s dream of becoming the 6th President of the republic of Malawi.
Kambala who is also the Managing Director of Mkaka Construction once served as chairman of the Malawi Confederation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (MCCCI).
