Police in Lilongwe have arrested a 45 year old Sophirate Masedewa for allegedly possessing medical drugs without license.
In an interview with Malawi News Agency (Mana) Thursday in Lilongwe, Lilongwe Police Spokesperson, Kingsley Dandaula said the arrest occurred in Nanjiri on Wednesday.
He said the police received a tip that the suspect was keeping medical drugs without license.
“The police received information through intelligence collection that Masedewa is illegally keeping medical drugs in her house. Upon searching the house, several drugs were found including eight packets of LA, five tins of ARVs, a packet lofinac and pack of Amoxylin,” Dandaula explained.
The suspect is being kept in Police custody pending to appear before court.
Masedewa hails from Mtakataka village, Traditional Authority (TA) Kachindamoto, Dedza.
