Father Montfort Mvonye of the Archdiocese of Blantyre will be laid to rest today at Limbe Cathedral Cemetery in the commercial capital Blantyre, faceofmalawi can reveal.
Father Mvonye passed on on Sunday December 16, 2018 after a short illness, according to the statement made available to FOM reporter.
According to information at hand, the funeral ceremony will start will mass which will be led by Archbishop Thomas Luke Msusa.
“The body of Late Fr Mvonye will be taken from College of Medicine Mortuary @ 3pm to Limbe Cathedral where mass shall be celebrated @ 5pm. Thereafter a vigil shall follow.
“Funeral Mass shall start @ 10am @ Limbe Cathedral. Burial is at Limbe Cathedral Cemetery,” reads in part the statement.
Father Mvonye was the most senior priest in the Archdiocese of Blantyre.
He has served in the Lord’s vineyard for 53 years.
He has died at the age of 83.
