Chaos erupted at TNM’s officers in the commercial capital Blantyre on Friday morning as customers scrambled on the line to purchase new smartphones at a discount of 50 percent.
On Monday this week, TNM announces an early Christmas to Malawians and halved prices on a selected range of smart phones at some of its shops in the major cities of Lilongwe, Blantyre and Mzuzu.
TNM dubbed the sale which is scheduled for today as #GreenFriday , a copy-cut of the Black Friday by game stores.
Customers started flocking to TNM offices in Livingstone Towers in Blantyre as early as 6:30am. Due to the long queue chaos erupted at the shop.
Police officers who were called in to controlled the crowd failed to do so and it took the intervention of the Malawi Defence Force to calm down the situation.
The soldiers have forced people to stand in a queue.
