Three children who had been reported missing in Area 23 in Lilongwe have been found dead in a river in the area.

Lilongwe police station publicist, Kingsley Dandaula, has confirmed that the children were found dead on Friday morning.

The three bodies have since been identified as those of two brothers, aged 8, 13 and an 11-year old from another family.

“We have managed to take out the bodies from the river,” Dandaula said.

According to Dandaula, John Kangombe, father to the two deceased brothers, reported that his two children went missing on Tuesday.

Dandaula said the bodies were found floating in the stream by a Kamuzu Barracks officer who was on his way to his farm.

The officer reported the issue to Military Police, which was then taken to Kawale Police Station.

“Police are advising parents and guardians to take a good care of the children,” Dandaula said.
