Malawi Police Services in the Central Region District of Mchinji are keeping in custody a 21-year-old Kennedy Kambani on suspicion of having sex with a goat and has since been charged him with bestiality.
Mchinji Police spokesperson Lubrino Kaitano said Kambani who hails from chief Chiloko’s area in the district was spotted by the owner of the flock of his goats which were grazing in a piece of land.
According to Kaitano, the owner of the goat initially thought Kambani was attempting to steal the goats and he mobilize the communities to apprehend him.
“When people arrived at the scene, they were shocked to see him having sexual intercourse with the goat,” said Kaitano.
He said Kambani was apprehended and brought to police where he was charged with the offence of bestiality.
Kambani told the police that he had sought the animal’s consent to have sexual intercourse with him.
