Police in Salima have arrested a man for allegedly calling a person with albinism as ‘gold’ in public, faceofmalawi can reveal.

Salima Police spokesperson Jacob Khembo confirmed of the arrest in an interview with the press and identified the suspect as Feston Josam.

According to Khembo, Josam shouted as Blessings Kadewere, a person with albinism that he was a living ‘gold’.

He said Josam has been charged with case of causing intimidation contrary to Section 56 of the Penal Code.

The suspect will appear in court soon.

Josam hails from Masuka village, Traditional Authority Chiwere in Dowa.
