Government through the National Statistical Office (NSO) is scheduled to release the much awaited results for the 2018 Population and Housing Census (PHC), faceofmalawi can reveal.
Initially, NSO was expected to release the preliminary results in December last year.
This has been disclosed in a statement released on Wednesday made available to faceofmalawi reporter.
“Government through the National Statistical Office (NSO), will tomorrow, Thursday, 10th January, 2019, release preliminary results for the 2018 Population and Housing Census (PHC).
The Commissioner of Statistics, Mrs. Mercy Kanyuka, will preside over the function that will take place at the NSO Offices in Zomba from 14:00hrs,” reads in part the statement.
The National Statistical Office collected data using computer assisted personal interview (Capi) after migrating from the paper based questionnaire last year.
The census started on 3 September and was expected to end on 23 September but was extended to 26 September in what NSO Commissioner Mercy Kanyika said was done to accommodate those not accounted for to be accounted for.
