Police in Machinga district have arrested two people for being found with sixteen human bones.
The suspects have been identified as Dyton Makwesela, 50 and Lamilo Mambo, 35 who were both nabbed on Monday, 7th January.
Facts are that on 3rd January, CID officers received a tip that there were some people offering for sale human bones. After acting upon the tip, police intercepted the suspects at Nkasaulo along Liwonde-Ntaja road.
It is said they were using a bicycle to carry the bones in a sack when the police intercepted them.
After searching the sack, police officers found sixteen human bones and the suspects were taken to Liwonde police where they were interviewed and revealed that the bones were of male and female persons.
The bones are to be taken to hospital for analysis.
The suspects will soon be taken to court after police finalizes their investigation on the matter.
The suspects, Dyton Makwesela hails from Jalafi village in the area of traditional authority Kawonga in Machinga while Lamilo Mambo is from Kamkwamba village T/A Nkoola in the same district.
