State Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima who is also leader of United Transformation Movement (UTM) has this morning left the country for United States of America for private visit, faceofmalawi can reveal.

Chilima left the country through Kamuzu International Airport in the capital Lilongwe and was escorted by UTM top officials led by its Secretary General Patricia Kaliati.

Also present at the airport was the new catch Jessie Kabwila, incumbent Member of Parliament for Salima North West Constituency who recently dumped the main opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP) after losing the primaries.

Special Assistant to the Vice President on Economic Affairs Milward Tobias confirmed of the trip in a statement made available to faceofmalawi reporter.

According to Tobias, Chilima will return home next week Thursday.

“The Vice President arrives back home on January 24, 2019 through Kamuzu International Airport (KIA),” reads in part the statement.

Meanwhile the agenda of the trip is not yet known at the moment.
