A man said to have been deserted by his wife is suspected to have poisoned his two daughters in a Kenyan area of Shauri Moyo on Tuesday.
Mr Joseph Simiyu is suspected have poisoned his daughters with a pesticide.
According to neighbors, Mr Simiyu has been bickering with his wife identified as Ms Millicent Anyango.
“It is really shocking that the lives of the two girls came to an end from a man who should be taking care of them,” a neighbor, Abel Ombaso told NairobiNews.
Neighbors said that Ms Anyango deserted her husband and sought refuge in a neighbor’s house.
There were plans to reconcile the couple.
Ms Mary Awuor, who has been housing the woman, said that Mr Simiyu had threatened that he will take some drastic actions if his wife will not go back home.
“His wife then went to attend a burial at her rural home only to come back and find the lifeless bodies of her two daughters,” Ms Awuor said.
On Tuesday morning angry residents bayed for the blood of Mr Simiyu but he was saved by police officers from Shauri Moyo police station.
Mr Simiyu disputed claims of poisoning his daughters.
The bodies of the two minors were taken to the Mama Lucy Hospital morgue.
