A court in Mangochi has refused to release on bail two people suspected of assaulting United Transformation Movement (UTM) members in Mangochi Sunday.

The two Adam Masitala 28 and Rajab Assan 38 have been charged with robbery with violence and insulting the modesty of a woman.

The two appeared in court Wednesday and have been remanded at Mangochi Prison. The case returns to court on February 6, 2019.

There is however public outcry that police have not arrested key suspects who are appearing in the video of the alleged assault and are still seen walking the streets free.
