The Chekucheku family has applauded President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika for his kind gesture of constructing a bridge at Lisungwi River in Neno district.

The bridge is in between two villages, Moffat and Nelson, and was abandoned long time ago by previous regimes.

The former T/A Chekucheku Francis Magombo who was speaking on behalf of the members of the family, has since asked the Minister of Transport and Public Works Hon Jappie Mhango for consideration in addressing challenges people face in crossing through the river, more especially during rainy season.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank the President and the DPP government for taking their time to thank the people of Neno,” he said.

The construction works were done professionally and has well-constructed concrete curvets placed at the bridge to avoid being washed away during rainy season, he said.

To this point, Magombo said they express their great gratitude towards the President for timely gift.

On behalf of the loyal family, l Francis Magombo thanks the government for this timely support.
