As one way of encouraging people in the country especially in Blantyre South West constituency, Elliot Makhamba Phiri held one day sensitization campaign on the importance of going to hospital early for cancer test at Senior Group Village Headman Mwangata At Nakhumba primary School Ground in the area of Traditional Authority Somba.
Speaking in an interview Makhamba Phiri who will contest as independents aspirant Parliamentarian candidate in the area he said he thought of engaging the community to give them awareness on the dangers of not going to hospital early for cancer test.
“Cancer is real and I encouraged them to go to hospital early for cancer test to avoid having this deadly disease which claims a lot of lives for people in the country, “He therefore thanked Cancer Association of Malawi (CAM) for their technical support during the sensitization campaign who spoke to the community on the importance of going to hospital early for cancer test.
“Mostly I have also to appreciate the First capital Bank (Formerly First Merchant Bank –FMB) for their financial support towards the awareness campaign which took place at Nakhumba primary School in Senior Group Village Headman Mwangata in the area of Traditional Authority Somba in Blantyre South West Constituency.” he said.
He therefore urged the voters to vote for him in the forth coming tripartite elections for developmental continuity.
