The High Court in Blantyre has restricted the UTM from announcing the winner of primary elections in Mulanje Central constituency.
One of the aspirants Damson Chilewani obtained a court injunction against declaring Michael Usi as the winner of the disputed primaries.
The court is expected to set a date for hearing on the matter as the UTM legal team prepares documents to defend the decision.
UTM Publicist Joseph Chidanti Malunga confirmed the development but could not give more details.
The party was expected to finalize its re-run primaries this week in some parts where aspirants contested the results.
