State Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima who is also leader of United Transformation Movement (UTM) has asked Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) youth cadets to stop using ‘ANA ADADI’ number plates, saying that it is uncalled for.

Chilima said this during a media briefing at Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in the capital Lilongwe.

“I am asking the DPP cadets to immediately stop using ANA ADADI number plates. This is uncalled for, If all Malawians decide to use ‘ANA ADADI’ number plates it means Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) will not collect revenues to run the country,” said Chilima.

Recently the country has seen infiltration of cars some Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) supporters with number plates bearing the name of President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika such as Adadi 1, APM 2019 BOMA and APM 1.

And recently close to five police officers in Central Region were transferred to remote arrears for detaining a vehicle with ‘ANA ADADI’ number plate.

Meanwhile DPP Spokesperson Nicholas Dausi is yet to comment on the matter.
