Murder suspect Misozi Chanthunya granted bail

Information reaching faceofmalawi indicates that the Supreme Court of Appeal in Zomba has granted bail to murder suspect Masozi Chanthunya.
Judge Dunstan Mwangulu made the ruling today when the case resumed after a break of close to two months now.
In his ruling, Mwaungulu observed that Chanthunya who is accused of killing his girlfriend Linda Gasa, a student at Malawi College of Accountancy (MCA) has overstayed in jail hence granting him bail.
Mwaungulu ordered Chanthunya to pay 5 million bailbond in cash and surrender all travelling documents to the court.
The court has also asked for 10 sureties from Chanthunya.
