Information reaching faceofmalawi indicates that two Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) aspiring MPs in Chikwawa will contest on an independent ticket in the forthcoming May 21 tripartite elections.
The shadow MPs are accusing the ruling DPP under President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika of failing to manage primary elections.
The two are Chikwawa Nkombezi MP Lloyd Malola and Chikwawa Central parliamentarian Zaheer Gaffar Issa.
DPP spokesperson Mr Nicholas Dausi could not comment as he claimed was locked up in a meeting.
DPP primaries especially in the South were marred by serious irregularities forcing the Party to call for a re-run in other constituencies.
DPP Vice President for South Kondwani Nankhumwa accused the presiding officers of receiving bribes with an aim of denting the party’s image.
