People’s Party leader Joyce Banda (JB) has chosen Economist Jerry Jana as her running mate for this year’s general elections, scheduled for May 21.
Jana is former Agriculture Development and Marketing Corporation (ADMARC) Chief Executive Officer and also served in various portfolios within the private sector.
Banda is expected to unveil Jana as her running mate this afternoon as she submits her Presidential Nomination Papers to Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) at Comesa Hall.
The former President pulled out of an alliance with United Transformation Movement (UTM) of Dr. Saulos Chilima over runningmate issue.
Banda accused Chilima of playing double standard on the matter.
