Mbakuwaku Movement for Development (MMD) President Peter Kuwani has finally presented his nomination papers to the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) at COMESA Hall in Blantyre.

Kuwani together with his runningmate Archbald Kalawang’oma arrived at Comesa Hall at exactly 9am and was welcomed by sizable party followers.

Speaking after presenting the nomination papers to MEC Kuwani said MMD’s agenda stands on liberating Malawians from social and economic woes.

“Each one of use should extend an olive branch to Malawians that are in need,” said Kuwani while smiling to the delight of his supporters.

On her part, MEC Chairperson Jane Ansah urged Mr. Kuwani to publicize and observe the Code of Conduct and go through all electoral literature.

She also pledged free and fair elections in the May 21 tripartite election.

“We continue to renew our pledge that will shall work professionally and independently as we go towards these polls,” said Ansah.

Kuwani is the third Presidential aspirants to present nomination papers to MEC.

Meanwhile People’s Party (PP) President Dr. Joyce Banda is set to present nomination papers to the MEC at 2pm.
