Main opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP) President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has returned home from United States of America.
The MCP torchbearer arrived in the country through Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) and was welcomed by MCP supporters led by National Youth Director Richard Chimwendo Banda.
“I have just landed in Lilongwe, and I thank you for your prayers. I have been pleasantly surprised to find a throng of young people waiting here on the airport premises just to give me a #ChakweraHi5 greeting and to ask that I address them about my vision to #BuildANewMalawi,” wrote Chakwera on his official facebook page.
Chakwera went to Washington D.C. where he joined Christian leaders from both the Republican Party and the Democratic Party at the annual National Prayer Breakfast.
The MCP leader was the first to present his nomination papers to the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) on Monday last week.
Chakwera assured Malawians that once voted into power in the forthcoming May 21 tripartite election he will make Malawi a better place for all Malawians.
