A 55 year old Woman is in police cell in Kasungu for allegedly killing a newly-born babe belonging to her daughter in order to marry her off to another man in Lilongwe.
Kasungu Police Spokesperson Constable Harry Namwaza confirmed of the development in an interview with Zodiak Broadcasting Station (ZBS) and identified the suspect as Eunice Chisi.
According to Namwaza, the suspect wrapped the babe in a mosquito net before burying it in a nearby by bush.
The suspect will appear in court to answer murder charges.
Chisi hails from Robert Village in the area of Sub Chief Mphomwa in the district.
