Aspirant Independent Parliamentarian candidate for Blantyre South-West constituency Elliot Mankhamba-Phiri has assured and promised people with albinism that once voted into power in this coming tripartite election on May 21 he will protect people with albinism with the help of the government through security agencies.

Mankhamba also said he is much worried that people with albinism are not fully protected as always there is news of killing and abduction of these people in the society.

“My plan is that once people usher me into parliamentary seat, I will sit down with government and discuss how best we can protect them so that they can enjoy the freedom they have as human beings,” he said.

He also said that once voted he will make sure that Blantyre South West constituency has a Boarding secondary school for both girls and boys because at the moment there is only Community Day Secondary Schools.

He further said there are few primary schools in the area and once ushered into power he will make sure that during his tenure there will be more primary schools to shorten the distance pupils are travelling for learning.

“I have to thank government for bringing electricity at Community Day Secondary School as that have made students to study during the night. I used to buy candles when form four students were near to sit for their exams but with this initiative things will improve much better,” he said.

He promises to  bring portable water, improve road network infrastructure, construct concrete foot bridges and construct school blocks among others.
