The main opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP) led by Dr. Lazarus Chakwera will launch its Manifesto on Friday, 8th March 2019 at Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in the capital Lilongwe.

MCP Publicity Secretary Reverend Maurice Munthali confirmed of the development in a statement released on Wednesday made available to faceofmalawi reporter.

According to Munthali, the launch will start at 9.00 o’clock in the morning.

“On behalf of the President, Dr Lazarus Chakwera, the Malawi Congress Party would like to announce to its members and the general public that it will launch its *MANIFESTO* on Friday, 8th March 2019.

“This very historic and auspicious ceremony will be held at Bingu International Convention Centre in Lilongwe from 9.00 o’clock in the morning,” reads in part the statement.

He added: “The Party is further asking all its officials, members and those who will be invited to grace the occasion to get seated in the main auditorium by 8:30 a.m.

“Further details about the *Manifesto Launch* will be communicated in due course by the office of the Publicity Secretary.”

The country will hold its second tripartite election on May 21, 2019 where nine Presidential candidates will face off.

Meanwhile five political parties namely; the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) under President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika, MCP of Chakwera, United Transformation Movement (UTM), opposition Peoples Party (PP) of Dr. Joyce Banda and United Democratic Front (UDF) are favoured to win the forthcoming polls.
