Information reaching faceofmalawi indicates that the Association of People with Albinism in Malawi (APAM) has suspended two of its board of trustees with immediate effect.
The two are Abigail Dzimadzi and Dr Maggie Wazakili, faceofmalawi can reveal.
According to information at hand, Dzimadzi has been suspended on grounds that she attended a meeting that State President Peter Mutharika organised early this month.
“I am writing on behalf of APAM general assembly which met at Mim auditorium on 8 March, 2019 during vigils. The assembly among many other issues made a resolution to suspend from board of trustees the following members with immediate effect ‘Ms Abigail Dzimadzi and Dr Maggie Wazakili,” reads part of the suspension notice.
The suspension notice says that what Dzimadzi did by attending the invitation of the head of state without being delegated by National Executive Council (NEC) of Apam is contrary to the provision of its constitution.
Meanwhile Dzimadzi is yet to comment on the matter.
