Two people are reported dead while 14 others have sustained serious injuries after the minibus they were travelling in overturned on the John Chilembwe Highway in Chiradzulu on Monday evening.
Chiradzulu Police Station Public Relations Officer Yohane Tasowana confirmed of the accident in an interview with Zodiak Broadcasting Station (ZBS).
According to Tasowana, the minibus overtuned overturned at Nyungwe after a tyre burst, forcing the driver to lose control.
Tasowana said the minibus registration number MHG 4413 with 16 passengers was enroute from Limbe to Zomba.
The other 14 were taken to Zomba Central Hospital where they are receiving treatment.
The deceased have been identified as Stefano Mustafa and Richard Muhamba.
