Intern Nurses in public hospitals are boycotting work to force government to permanently employ them as they fall behind a 50% vacancy rate in public hospitals.
Health activist and leader of the unemployed nurses in the country, Mr. Donald Zgambo confirmed the development saying that the nurses feel that are not paid correlated to services they offer.
However, the harsh move taken by the nurses has affected service delivery in public hospitals.
The government of Malawi introduced internship program in all government departments last year.
