Zambian Ambassador to Kenya Brenda Muntemba Sichilembe has passed on at the Nairobi Hospital after being admitted to the Intensive Care Unit for three weeks.

Brenda was involved in a grisly road accident on Tuesday, February 16, on her way back from Machakos to Nairobi when an oncoming lorry rammed on a car she was traveling in.

Medical reports showed the 49-year-old suffered serious injuries and was briefly operated on to stem internal bleeding in Machakos Level Five Hospital.

Together with her Botswana counterpart Duke Lephoko who was traveling with her, they were referred to the Nairobi Hospital where she took her last breath on the morning of Wednesday, March 20.

The deceased was a school teacher between 1993 and 1995 and also a part-time radio presenter.

An a media personality, Brenda has authored and published four motivational books so far.

Prior to her ambassadorial appointment, she served as a police commissioner and Zambia’s Chief Programmes Officer for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization until 2015 when she took her oath for the ambassadorial post.
