Police in Blantyre have arrested Songwe Kabaghe, an independent aspiring candidate in the local council elections for Mapanga Ward in Blantyre City East.

Kabaghe was arrested for demolishing the fence of a house for his neighbour, Osman Dagia.

Kabaghe is reported to have sent to Dagia’s house a gang which fell the fence of the house down using heavy objects.

This is not the first time for Kabaghe to be arrested as he was also arrested for the same charges before.

The police also once arrested Kabaghe after felling down a Ms Liviel’s brick fence and was released on bail.

Kabaghe is said to have set up a gang that aim to terrorise people in Machinjiri Township.

He is also illegally involved in selling of plots in the area.
