President Professor Peter Mutharika has promised to build 7 secondary school in Dedza.
Mutharika made the promise on Tuesday during a whistle stop tour at Msikawanjala market in the district.
According to Mutharika, out of all learners who complete their primary school education only 37% proceeds to secondary school.
He however said that construction of secondary schools will help to mend the situation.
“I would like to promise you here in Dedza that I will build 7 secondary schools,” promised Mutharika.
Traditional Authority(T/A) Kamenyagwaza hailed Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), for transforming Dedza.
He further said that despite having well known politicians in the districts they failed to implement developments.
“Despite that we were under leadership of some famous politicians here in Dedza for a long time we remained the undeveloped district until the DPP government under Professor Bingu Wa Mutharika came in and constructed a stadium, depot and this beautiful market,” said Kamenyagwaza.
Mutharika further asked people of Dedza to vote for him in the forthcoming elections.
